Do you battle Fear in your life? If so then perhaps you can relate to this little poem that I wrote about her.
I can count on Fear.
Fear has been my constant companion. No matter where I find myself, in what circumstance, or whom else I am with, Fear has always been there.
Fear causes feelings of anger.
She creates anxiety and doubt.
Fear encourages mistrust.
Her forte is promoting hurt.
She undermines marriages with her barbs about security and faithfulness.
Fear is a hate-monger.
She stirs up conflict between parent and child so that communication comes to a standstill.
She paralyzes her prey so that he will not, cannot see any way out, no light at the end of the tunnel, no hope of rescue.
Fear obstructs the view of our Rescuer.
She allows nothing to get in the way of her mission and she will not stop until she succeeds.
Fear is undaunted, unscrupulous, unafraid, and unrelenting.
I have always been able to count on Fear.
Have you ever wondered how to conquer fear? Or how to push through a situation despite your fear? I have discovered that there is one solution.
One Person Who is greater than fear.
His name is Jesus. He is ever-constant. He is our healer and provider, our shield and protector. And He never forsakes us. He promises to walk with us through the fear and trials in this life. He is our Rescuer.
One way that I have been working through fears in my life is through reading the scripture. God’s word renews the mind. It comforts. And it speaks truth to combat the lies the enemy would have us believe.
Specifically, I am working through this 31 Verses to Overcome Fear free printable offered over at His Mercy is New. I am taking each verse and creating a printable that I can then cut out and place in the ‘fear’ journal I keep in my traveler’s notebook. Coloring these verses and reading them over and over again is helping me to become less fearful and to have more courage to keep moving forward despite my fears.
As a go-along I am also working through Candace’s ebook, 31 Days of Battling Your Fears.
Each day in this study offers a brief ‘lesson’ and bible verse to read and ruminate upon. Then readers are directed to write out and pray a prayer that is directly related to the day’s verse. Each day’s study session ends with a place to write out blessings, to help each of us focus on the positive, the goodness and faithfulness of God.
If you struggle with fear as I do, these resources will be immensely helpful to you as you work through them, as you seek to renew your mind, and focus on the truths of God.
Do you have a specific fear battle you are fighting right now? Please leave a comment with your prayer request, or contact me privately. I count it an honor to pray for you.
