Have any of you seen the movie War Room? I have not seen the movie yet but I have heard how wonderful it is from many of my friends. Until recently, I did not realize that there is also a book. I just picked it up last week and began reading. I have to tell you it is changing my prayer life and my perspective on a few things. I have long known that prayer works, but living my life out as a prayer warrior in very specific ways has been an amazing journey already. I’m considering purchasing the bible study to go through, as well.
I love this quote from Miss Clara within the first few chapters of the book.
“the point of prayer is not to get what we want. Prayer changes the person who prays.”
Yes, yes, and yes!
I am praying about marriages, my own and those of family members; relationships with my children; people I know who don’t know Jesus; which direction to go with my business; and so much more as I feel led. But marriage is one of my passions! Because we have found such forgiveness and healing in our marriage through all that God has done, and I know that there are so many hurting couples even within the church body. I desire to see each married couple changed by God as we have been and continue to be changed individually and in our marriage as we surrender to Jesus.
My friend Candace of His Mercy is New has created a lovely free printable of bible verses to help you as you pray for your marriage. Be sure to head on over and print it off to place in your bible, attach to your mirror, or put it in your ‘war room’ so that you can easily refer to God’s word as you pray specifically for your husband, your marriage, and the marriages of friends and family.
Do you have a specific prayer request for your marriage? I would consider it an honor to pray for you. Feel free to leave a comment below or contact me with your request. Be sure to subscribe to Purpose Living Wife, too, so you don’t miss new posts in the future!
