My friend Tami and I have known one another for several years online. We worked together for the same online company for a time, and kept in touch long after both of us had changed positions. We even enjoyed the privilege of meeting for lunch one day with our families as my family traveled south through a town near her home. It was an absolute pleasure, as always, to meet an online friend in person, making her an in-real-life friend now and forever!
Since we are friends, and I always love to see any of my friends succeeding and meeting their goals, I was thrilled when I learned that Tami had written and published her first book. I am honored today to share with you a bit about Giving Your Children Wings Without Losing Yours.
Tami’s desire with her book is to share the methods she has used with her own children to help other mothers to prepare their children to “take their wings and fly into life as prepared adults” and to be what God has for each of them to be.

Giving Your Child Wings Without Losing Yours: My Thoughts
There are many things that I like about this book. The name itself speaks to me as a mama. We as women sacrifice so much for our children, and to have a resource at hand which speaks to the problem of pouring into our children and losing ourselves in the process is like gold. Tami gets it! There are many quotes within the book which stood out. However, none were more personal to me and my life than this one.
[Tweet “Break the chains of bondage to perfectionism.”]
How many of us have spent time in bondage to the idea that everything must be perfect? Our homes, our bodies, our children, our marriages, our work environment. We become slaves to this idea and then lose our freedom in the process. Tami constantly comes back to the importance of finding balance in our lives and putting systems into place to help control clutter, meals, family activities, education, and so much more.
Tami understands that life is busy. She has been there. She is in the trenches with us as she is still raising four of her six children! Even in the busy-ness, Tami teaches us how to reign it all in, to say no when necessary, and to teach our kids to take on the responsibilities that they can handle and should be theirs, so that we can help our children to understand that having a home to keep clean and in good repair is a blessing for which we should all be thankful.
Through her words in Giving Your Children Wings Without Losing Yours, Tami encourages women to embrace the season we are in, to believe that God in His great wisdom has chosen us to travel through it for His glory, and that He will walk with us and bring others alongside us to help hold up our arms as Aaron and Hur did for Moses.
