Are you soul-thirsty?
I’m learning that the more I come to know God, the closer I grow to Him, the more thirsty I become. Thirsty for His word, for His truth, for His promises, and for His correction. And the more I receive all of those things, the more He quenches my thirst with His living water, the more grateful I become to Him as my redeemer, for the life He has freely given to me.
God does not leave me in the muck and mire of sin. He doesn’t leave you there. Instead, He stretches out His hand to offer help, to pull each of us straight up out of our ‘junk’ and into His grace.
God is changing me. It has been a years-long process. I think it is that way for many of us. But in the last couple of years He has pursued me relentlessly. He has restored my marriage to a place I wasn’t sure it would ever reach, and He is teaching me to “lean in”, to give Him my all, to surrender. He is helping me to find new words and to change my expectations.
Read more over at Managing Your Blessings, where I enjoy the privilege today to share with you some of what God has been teaching me in my marriage.
