I know that there are many different types of mourning. We mourn over the death of a parent or a child, over the loss of a job, possibly over the seeming death of a life-long dream. Our tendency is to put these into categories and behave as if one type of mourning is worse than the other. In truth, no one can know the depth of mourning another experiences in any of these situations unless she has experienced it herself.
Over the years I have begun to see mourning differently and I try to refrain from judgement. Instead I am realizing that my own mourning is different from others’, but it is mourning all the same.
No matter what you have gone through or are in the midst of mourning right now, God cares. He offers His comfort to you today as a balm to your soul. I pray that you will seek Him and find the comfort that only He can give!
